Maryland is not waiting on the federal government to act. Maryland is moving in the right direction.
Maryland has set the target of 50% clean energy by 2030 (yep, that’s just eleven years away).
[BOLIVAR, WV] The Harpers Ferry Chiropractic and Physical Therapy Center will be celebrating its new solar array and opening its doors to the public to learn about what solar can do for local businesses.
“It is a privilege to have the opportunity to continue to install solar in the community, and to take part in bringing more solar power to our home state,” said Mike McKechnie, Founder and Owner of Mountain View Solar.
Mountain View Solar will be on hand to explain the tax benefits for business owners to install solar. West Virginia business owners can take advantage of a large federal tax credit and accelerated equipment depreciation in addition to lowering their electric bills by installing solar. Local businesses, particularly farm businesses, are also eligible for a USDA grant of up to 25% of the total system cost.
The Harpers Ferry Chiropractic and Physical Therapy Center and solar experts from Mountain View Solar, the Morgan County, WV solar business which installed their solar array, will be on hand to show the Harpers Ferry Chiropractic and Physical Therapy Center’s solar power system as well as answer any questions attendees may have. As this is a roof-mounted array, attendees will see the array as well as a monitoring website showing how much electricity the Harpers Ferry Chiropractic and Physical Therapy Center generated that day.
“I have had high electric bills, particularly due to high demand charged. I wanted the freedom to control my electric bill, so I went solar to cut back on my electric costs,” said Alissa Harris, owner of the Harpers Ferry Chiropractic and Physical Therapy Center. “I’d like to invite business owners and the public to see how solar is working for me and to explore it for themselves.”
This event is sponsored by Mountain View Solar and the Harpers Ferry Chiropractic and Physical Therapy Center. This is a free and public event. Anyone interested in attending is asked to RSVP by visiting bit.ly/hfchiro or by calling event planner Daniel Chiotos at 304-886-3389.
This Open House and Ribbon Cutting Event will be held at 1627 West Washington St, Harpers Ferry, WV 25425 on Thursday, April 11TH between 3:00 – 5:00 PM. Finger food by Bolivar’s own Canal House Café and hot beverages will be provided.
